JobLINC Career Fair Links Library Customers to Hiring Companies
By: Marcey Evans
Pack your case with resumes and dress for success for the JobLINC Career and Information Fair on Thursday, July 25, 2013, 10 am – 3 pm at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library (3030 Poplar Avenue, meeting rooms A – C and gallery).
With more than 30 companies slated to attend, the JobLINC Career and Information Fair is a great opportunity for jobseekers to meet and greet representatives from hiring companies.
“We want to see Memphis working. The ultimate purpose is to connect jobseekers with jobs,” said Robyn Stone, JobLINC services manager and event organizer. “It’s a win-win for the local economy!”
Citizens of Memphis are encouraged to take the first step toward employment or career promotion at the Career Fair. Stone said the JobLINC Career and Information Fair is tailored for Library customers who are looking for work. “Many other fairs have more schools attending than employers, and that turns off some jobseekers,” she said. “But, we meet the needs of those seeking employment and those seeking advanced training.”
In addition to actively hiring companies, jobseekers will have access to The Tennessee Department of Labor’s Mobile Career Coach, the Workforce Investment Network, and Hero2Hired which will also attend.
“Please come to the Career Fair with a positive attitude, dressed for success, and ready to impress,” Stone advised.
