About the Gaston Park Library
The Gaston Park Library opened in 1979 in the Gaston Park neighborhood of South Memphis. The area was named in recognition of John Gaston, a local businessman of the late 1800s/early 1900s who donated his land to the City of Memphis for philanthropic purposes.
The Gaston Park Library has about 5,100 square feet and holds about 17,000 books and other items.
